Hi, I'm Shadow...
Shadow Von Kat has been a poet since before the first “Jurassic Park” movie was in theatres, had four distinctly separate legal names within a 20 year span, and has been officially credited as both a zombologist and an award-winning zombie (film) researcher. Additionally, Shadow gave seven presentations on various topics at the National Popular Culture Association Conference between 2006 and 2017. Two were specifically about zombies, and one was about creatures who are often thought to be zombies but do not meet the definition.
In many years of academia (including 14 years as an instructor of various levels of college English), Shadow co-published a book chapter about the use of mainstream film (and other film not originally developed specifically for education) in the classroom, edited several professor’s book chapters or books, helped develop an English Composition textbook, and created an in-class (but not in-room) assignment known as the “visual scavenger hunt” (which, the last they knew, upon leaving the University, was still in use by other instructors). During these 14 years, Shadow had many memorable students. One sat in the back of the room, never removed his sunglasses (not that the request was made), and kept drawing—but still knew exactly what was going on and finally offered an answer when several students were stuck on a question and class had stalled. The two would meet again, later, at the campus gaming group (of which Shadow was the faculty advisor), which is where she and Dead-Arts would actually become friends.
