Hi, I’m Taylor…

Hello there! I’m Taylor Evans, a storyboard artist and 2D animator. I completed my bachelor’s degree in animation at the Savannah College of Art and Design, where I studied concept development in animation: storyboarding (my favorite), writing, 2D hand-drawn animation, 2D puppet rigging and animation, character design, and environment design (my least favorite, I really appreciate the people who take care of that). I’ve collaborated on storyboards, character, prop, and environment designs, and animation for several short films, such as The Slowest Draw in the West, Gearbevel City, and Taxi. As early on as I am, I’m not positive about my niche as far as genre or topic. I’m beginning to suspect, though, that nostalgia, regionalism, and magical realism are all factors. Right now, I’m in the storyboarding stage of a much-too-ambitious feature length film of my own that’s got all three of those factors and a splash of mystery to boot. My grandmother and my parents have told me so many stories about life when they were younger, what they would get into, etc., and those experiences have always been so charming to me. In most every project of mine I’ve found myself drawing from them. So I figure: why not embrace it?
